Of course there are many people who think watching Celebrity Big Brother is like injecting vomit into their eyeballs … and they may be right.

However for punters CBB is real cannon fodder. A market that harps back to yesteryear when statistics where something for a census and betting was done on feel alone.

This year extrabet have seen a 35% increase in betting on CBB compared to last.

The real dark horse is now becoming Katie Price’s on/off boyfriend Alex Reid, who has been backed off the boards in the last few days in from 16/1 to 6/1. With Vinnie Jones the 4/7 favourite and Nicola T 8/1 it would seem that the winner will come from 1 of those 3.

However the general rule of thumb is that reality shows encourage a late runner on the rails as we saw with Chris Hollins in Strictly Come Dancing and Ulrika Jonsonn on CBB last year who won from 33/1 only a week before the end. It’s difficult to see who could fit that bill but extrabet has seen punters nibble away at Stephanie Beacham at 16/1.
