Man United on the Charge...
For those still not convinced in Manchester United’s ability to ‘surge’ in performance at the end of a season please read on … Man United have won 8 of their last 10 games, drawn 1 and lost 1. Of those games they have won 5 by 2 goals or more and 6 of those 10 games have been away from home. For those hoping they trip at the end of this season beware that Man United won 9 of their last 11 games at the end of last season and drew the other 2. Add to this they should soon have Vidic and Ferdinand back in tandem for the run-in and it doesn’t make pretty reading for their detractors.Tomorrow they face an AC Milan side who were lucky to finish 3-2 losers in the Champions League 2 weeks ago and haven’t won a game in the competition since the middle of October. It is easy to see why the smart money is coming for United this week and at 4/6 people are seeing them as their mid week banker.
extrabet’s Chris Shillington reflects on the mood from the trading floor … “Whatever price we put Manchester United at people will back them. They are one of the biggest boos of our season this Wednesday and a convincing victory will mean bread and water for us for a while”
