Postman to Cut the Power?

For some the game of darts is a game to be played drunkenly when the dukebox is broken and for others it is high-drama, big-business.

Such big business in fact that if Phil Taylor wins this year’s World Championships he will have won £1 million in prize money in a calendar year. And at 4/11 you’d be a brave man to bet against him.

However a contact of mine within the game has told me that Raymond van Barneveld has put his bad year behind him and has been practising all the hours God sends to get his game back to where it was 2 years ago and word has got back to Taylor. At 12/1 he might be the main challenger to the Power and with a 15th title on the line and expectations higher than ever maybe this is the year for an upset.

Elsewhere the young pretender in James Wade is 8/1 however there are those in the game that still think Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis is still the man with the talent to beat his all conquering mentor.

“Darts continues to be one of the biggest growth areas in sports betting at extrabet and once again all the money is for Taylor”

PDC World Championships

P Taylor 4/11
J Wade 8/1
R Barneveld 12/1
G Anderson 14/1
M King 33/1
A Lewis 40/1
T Jenkins 50/1
